menu redesign
This is a menu redesign to show how I can take an existing design and give it a new look while still staying true to its character. I wanted to use the same color scheme while adding textures and finally highlighting their main attraction, the many beers they have on tap.
Longwell's is a long time popular bar in the Haymarket area in Lincoln, Nebraska. I wanted to redesign their logo to be more modern and clean in order to give it an updated feel. As time goes on and prices (hopefully) are going up, any business should continue to better their services as well. Seeing as it is still a sports bar I added texture to keep the menu from being too clean or perfect. Of course the best part of the entire establishment is the large amount of craft beers they have on tap. For this, I wanted to dedicate the entire back side of the menu to list them out so that it was easy to find any beer.
Before Shot
This is a before shot of the menu. The design is very overwhelming with over six different typefaces. I wanted to focus on the type and choose three or less different typefaces in order to give it character but also keep it cohesive with the logo.
menu design
One of my favorite healthy spots, The High Vibe Cafe did not have a menu, only a handwritten chalk wall. The wall was too small to fit all of their menu options and was often hard to read.
I decided to design a simple menu for them. I used a photo of the chalk wall and my knowledge of the other menu items to fit all of the menu items onto one simple page. Printed on canvas and presented on a clipboard.
