Best Dessert in Omaha

Can I just start by saying, please send me recommendations if you don't see your favorite on this list. Also - this list is very thoughtful because I take dessert seriously 💘

Coneflower Creamery

Location in Blackstone and soon to have a second location downtown in the Millworks building. By far the best ice cream in Omaha and definitely my favorite I have tried in my life. They just do it so right. So creamy, fun flavors, fresh ingredients, atmosphere…its a no brainer for me. Being an ice cream fanatic, I do not say this lightly!

They let you try as many flavors as you want so TRY THEM! Some of the fan favorites are the King Cake (during mardi gras - they fly cakes from New Orleans for this flavor), Grandma Minnie’s Lemon Bar, & Birthday Cake!

Try it, you will not regret it!

tous les jours

Amazing pastries & huge selection. The moment I walked in, I was stunned by how many different pastries they have available. You just grab a tray and choose the ones you would like and pay at the counter. They have a variety of sweet and savory pastries! If you like sweet (like me) you should try the croissant stuffed with whipped cream and strawberries - YUM! We also ordered iced lattes with soy and oat milk to try different kinds - both were delicious (which is a huge testament since we ordered them unsweetened). I have yet to try their macarons but they looked amazing! This would also be such a great spot to order a fun cake that is out of the ordinary Hyvee/Costco cake selection!

This spot has a large seating area including a couch and several tables so its a great spot to hang out in!

Dante

Dante in West Omaha is one of my new and all-time favorite restaurants in Omaha. They have the most incredible food that just feels like it has so much intention behind it. This Italian spot has some creamy, delicious gelato along with other desserts like their butterscotch budino (meaning pudding) topped with a salted caramel sauce - omg. I never would have ordered the budino without it being recommended by our server for a friend’s birthday dessert.

One thing to know about Dante is that this is a sit-down restaurant so this might be more of an occasion spot for dessert, rather than a grab and go.

Fariner Bakery

Okay so this is not technically in Omaha but it is so beyond amazing, it needed to be on the list. Located in Ashland, they create the most incredible, perfect pastries. Not only that but their drinks are just as amazing. If you are looking for the perfect sweet treat, you have to try Fariner.

Magnolia Bake Shop

If you have never tried magnolia bake shop, you should definitely give them a try! They have a cute new location in the Ashton building in the Millwork Commons neighborhood! They also have a location next to Lisa’s Radial Cafe - an Omaha staple! If you like cherries you MUST try the cherry pie bar - absolutely incredible. I tried it on a whim and have been craving it ever since. They also have vegan options! They sell some of those vegan options at a cafe around the corner called Amateur Coffee.

WheatFields Bakery

If this wasn’t already obvious, Wheatfields has some of the very best cakes in Omaha, including their famous Farm House Wedding Cake and who can forget about their carrot cake. I have yet to be disappointed with a dessert from Wheatfields.

Pitch Pizza

Okay here my out - if you are a fan of tiramisu, although I have yet to try it, Pitch allegedly has the best one in town!

If you didn’t see your favorite dessert on this post, please mention it in the comments - my sweet tooth would love to try!
