Easiest Way to Start A Garden

Like most things in life, this might seem like a daunting thing to learn but trust nature and trust me when I tell you, this is so easy and you can do it.

STEP ONE
Find a place to have your garden.
This can be a smaller or a bigger area, all you need is the ground.
Look at your space visually and decide how many plants you can get.

STEP TWO
Go to your local plant nursery.
This can also include somewhere like Lowes or Home Depot.

STEP THREE
Pick out some vegetable garden soil & find a few
vegetable plants that have already been grown from seed.
Keep in mind cucumbers like to spread out and take up more space that other plants.
If you don't have a small garden shovel - buy one, you’ll need it!

STEP FOUR
Use your shovel to make space for your plant.
Put your plants into the ground and add your soil back to fill in the empty spaces.
This is when you can mix in your vegetable soil you bought.

STEP FIVE
Water them after planting them and watch them grow!!

THINGS TO KNOW
The best time to plant your garden (midwest peeps) is after Mother’s Day.
Right after placing your new plants into a new spot, they might go into shock.
This shouldn’t last long but make sure to give them extra attention at the beginning.
Water them daily, unless it rains. You can of course skip days but summer is hot…help them out!
Keep pruning them. This just means to keep taking from them (herbs esp) because it promotes more growth.
If you want to avoid small animals eating your food, put chicken wire or cages around your plants.

SHARE!
You will probably have a surplus of whatever you grow so find someone who you can share your veggies with!
